Funds raised by the book sale, bake sale and silent auction totaled $17,831.32! This is an incredible amount that will help all the students at Elgin and enhance many aspects of our children’s education.

The Parent Council would like to advise the Elgin Street Public School community that changes to the Council’s Constitution are under consideration.
These changes will be discussed at the Council’s May 16 meeting at 5:30 p.m. and voted on at the June 20 5:30 p.m. meeting.

The changes are intended tighten up some points that were unclear or redundant. As well, they remove some detail that was unnecessary. In some cases, the changes align the Constitution with what has become accepted practice in the last few years and seems to be working. It also makes clearer that Council can conduct routine business remotely but makes it easier to move decisions to a face-to-face meeting if needed.
The Constitution and Bylaws may be amended by approval of a motion by a two-thirds majority of voting members of Council and parents who attend the June 20 meeting.
